Whipped cream – I used fat-free Reddi Whip.Red food coloring – Optional for presentation!.Ice – Fresh ice is key for the best consistency.Milk – I used almond milk, but you can use whatever milk you wish!.It really helps achieve that perfect milkshake flavor. And that’s exactly what it does in this recipe. Xanthan gum – This is a thickener/stabilizer often added to foods to help create thickness.Stevia – I used Natrisweet Stevia Liquid Drops.Peppermint Bark – I used Andes brand but any kind works.Keep in mind that just a little goes a LONG way. Peppermint extract – This will help add more delicious peppermint flavor.Ice cream – Milkshakes need ice cream, DUH! I love Edy’s Slow Churned French Vanilla.Save 10% on all PEScience products with my affiliate code, Laurenfitfoodie. Protein powder – I used PEScience Peppermint Bark to really go all in on that peppermint flavor! Use your favorite vanilla ice cream to yeild best results! Mine is Tillamook. If you want a thicker shake (like you would get at Chick-Fil-A) then it is best to crush the candy canes up beforehand and mix all your ingredients with a hand blender! While crushing the candy canes works the best in the Blendtec, it will lead to a thinner consistency milkshake. If you're looking for a Christmas gift for that hard to buy for person, a Blendtec may be a great option! I've tried crushing things in other blenders and with the good 'ol rolling pin to ziplock bag but nothing gets things crushed like the Blendtec.
